With Leonardo Senatore returning to Los Pampas XV Argentina are left with just three backrowers playing in the Top 14 Orange - Alvaro Galindo, Juan Martín Fernández Lobbe and Juan Manuel Leguizamón. Alejandro Nazur could be a fourth. The 21 year old backrower from the Northern Argentine city of Tucumán has been playing his rugby since 2010 in France for the espoirs (under 23 team) for Pro d2 side Aurillac. His future may well be in the Top 14 Orange, however, as he could well be on his way to play for Carcassonne next season. The club, located between Montpellier and Perpignan, is in fifth place in the Pro d2 standings and as it stands will qualify for the Semi Finals with the teams ranked from second - fifth competiting for the right to joining Grenoble in next seasons Top 14. Aurillac, in contrast is well down the ladder and out of contention to advance to the Top 14 next season.
Carcassonne is coached by former French international Christian Labit who played at Rugby World Cup 2003. Labit has his eyes on Nazur and has made an offer to the young Argentine player. Nazur´s potential involvement in the Top 14 would greatly increase his chances of national honors for Argentina. Alejandro Nazur is uncapped. Should he he selected by Santiago Phelan he would join Alvaro Galindo, Nicolás Sánchez and Julio Farías Cabello as Pumas players from Tucumán. His chances of being selected may well be stronger than at first impression as Julio Faráis Cabello may well be used as a secondrower not a backrower by Phelan this year.
